Frayed denim used to mean that your favorite pair of jeans were on their last life. It was the sign of jeans that were not tailored, and dragged when you walked around town. However, frayed denim is having a resurgence, and raw edges are cool again.

Denim trends are always changing, and this fall there are two trends taking over: flares and frayed.

You can be an extra brave fashionista, and rock both trends at the same time with some cropped flared jeans with frayed hem, but that might be too much for some. Instead, there are other options for rocking a frayed hem without getting too far out of your comfort zone. There are denim dresses with slightly unraveled hems, or even shorts and overalls that have some worn edges.

Going with the ’70s trend that is having a major resurgence at the moment, the frayed edge as a bit of modernity to a boring pair of flares. And if you are really savvy, there are plenty of DIY options for transforming an old pair in your closet into modern frayed hem jeans.
